If I had to describe Vienna in a word, I would define it as “majestic”.
Vienna is the city of music, noble palaces, the waltz and the sacher torte.
But it’s also the city with the most comprehensive cultural pole in the world – the Museum Quarter – and with an artistic scene made vibrant by a myriad of creative young people.

For a nice stay in Vienna, we selected 3 special hotels, each one designed for a different kind of traveller:
a boutique hotel in a historical building,
a luxury design hotel in the heart of the museum district,
a smart luxury hotel where you can also sleep into a caravan.

The Palais Coburg Residenz is located in the heart of Vienna, near the Saint Stephen Cathedral.

If you are attracted by the idea of staying in a historical palace, this solution could seduce you: grand hotel outside, only 35 suites inside, a commendable service and some doozies that make it really special.

This luxury 5 star hotel occupies a prestigious 1800s building, with an imposing neoclassical facade, recently restored.

In 2003, with the transition from private structure to boutique hotel, 35 lovely suites were realized, each one with its own style: the smallest are elegantly furnished with a contemporary design, perfectly integrated into the palace’s historic atmosphere; the most luxurious ones, great in dimensions, are dedicated to different characters, have a very refined decor with antiques and crystal chandeliers, and boast magnificent views of the cathedral or the garden.

The cozy private garden of the hotel is a small green oasis where you can lie down between plane trees and magnolias, immersed in the scent of flowers.

A pleasant surprise even for the Clementine im Glashaus restaurant’s guests, who in its gorgeous terrace can not only enjoy the cuisine of the award-winning chef Silvio Nickol, but also the tranquillity of this nice green corner.

A night at the Clementine is a gourmet night, where guests can taste excellent specialities of Austrian and international cuisine, accompanied by the immeasurable wine collection of the 6 wine cellars of the hotel.
A collection that has been ranked as the best in the world, with 60,000 prestigious bottles from the best wine cellars in the world and dating back four centuries.

And finally the luxury spa with sauna, swimming pool and a large terrace with panoramic view over the city’s rooftops.

The Sans Souci is a luxury design hotel, located in the heart of the dynamic Museum Quarter, one of the biggest artistic and cultural poles in the world.

The basic idea of this design hotel was to enhance the historic charm of a late nineteenth century building, recovering the original architectures and creating an interesting mix of antiques and contemporary design.

To make the rooms unique, in addition to a design signed by Yoo, there is a collection of original works by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and art pieces by Charles Eames.

The luxury joins to the contemporary, making the location trendy and modern, from the rooms to the other hotel’s areas, as well as the La Véranda restaurant, which serves traditional dishes made with seasonal ingredients and local products, according to the Slow Food philosophy.

The Sans Souci hotel‘s Bar is a good meeting point not only for the hotel guests but also for locals, who appreciate its intimate ambience and champagne tastings.

Finally the Spa, where the guest can enjoy a sauna, a massage or maybe a bath in the elegant swimming pool.

Near the Schloss Belvedere, it rises a very particular hotel, as the eccentric sculpture on the facade suggests: a boat from the roof seems to be about to fall to the ground. The sculpture is a work by the artist Erwin Wurm and is just a hint to what you will see inside.

The hotel Daniel is a concentrate of style and personality, designed to attract the younger travellers looking for a creative and trendy environment, even in its essentiality.

Behind the project there is the Smart Luxury concept, a luxury stripped of everything superfluous and enriched of a functional creativity.

In this modernist shell of the sixties, the architecture is industrial, with an essential decor in the rooms and unexpected items such as large hammocks to swing oneselves at the window.

As you walk in, you understand not to be in an ordinary hotel: missing the classic reception desk, there is a large space designed as a loft, where the lounge area joins the hotel’s merchandising shop and the Daniel Bakery, decorated with vintage furniture and also open to passing.

One more idea? The honey used by the bakery is produced by bees bred on the hotel’s seventh floor.

And in the garden there’s another surprise: a 16 sqm caravan, furnished with style and completed with TV and bath tub, for those who want to try an unusual experience.
